The Pro Shot Laser Alpha C Self-Leveling Laser Level is a specialized construction laser designed to project an adjustable conical sloping reference for applications where a conventional flat horizontal laser plane is not sufficient. Built on Pro Shot's Alpha platform, the Alpha C combines servo-motor self-leveling, precision construction, and a custom adjustable cone rotor head.

The standard Alpha C can project an upward or downward cone with slopes of up to ±4% in 0.25% increments. The Alpha C High Resolution version provides a finer conical slope adjustment of up to ±1.7% in 0.10% increments, making it better suited for applications requiring smaller and more precise slope changes.

This unique conical reference makes the Alpha C particularly useful for baseball fields, running track corners and infield "D" zones, and containment or collection areas surrounding storage tanks. The laser can be positioned at either the high or low point of the application and can also function as a precise conventional laser level.

Both configurations include the Pro Shot R9 Laser Receiver, receiver clamp, and carrying case. With the R9, the system provides up to a 2,000 ft diameter working range, while the Alpha C's IP56 construction, machine-control compatibility, and 8-year warranty make it suitable for demanding professional field use.

Which Package Should I Choose?

020-0020C – Alpha C Standard

Choose the standard Alpha C when you need the broader ±4% conical slope range and 0.25% adjustments are sufficient for the project.

Its wider slope capability makes it a strong choice for athletic fields, running tracks, containment areas, and other projects requiring a defined conical grade.

Recommended For:

  • Baseball Fields
  • Running Tracks
  • Athletic Facilities
  • Storage Tank Containment
  • Circular Drainage Areas
  • Sitework Contractors
  • General Conical Grading

020-0020CH – Alpha C High Resolution

Choose the High Resolution version when the application requires finer slope control. It provides conical slope adjustment up to ±1.7% with increments as fine as 0.10%.

Recommended For:

  • Precision Athletic Field Grading
  • Fine Drainage Control
  • Running Track Construction
  • Precision Containment Grading
  • Projects with Tighter Slope Specifications
  • Specialized Sitework

Key Features

Adjustable Conical Laser Reference

Unlike a conventional rotary laser that primarily establishes a flat horizontal plane, the Alpha C incorporates a custom precision cone rotor head.

The adjustable head allows the laser to establish a conical sloping reference, making it useful for projects where grade must consistently rise or fall around a central point.

Set Up at the High or Low Point

The Alpha C can be positioned at either the high point or low point of the application and project the appropriate conical slope reference.

This provides flexibility when establishing grades for athletic fields, tracks, containment areas, and similar projects.

±4% Cone Slope – Standard Alpha C

The standard Alpha C provides a cone slope range of ±4% with adjustments in 0.25% increments.

This configuration provides the broader slope range of the two available models.

±1.7% High Resolution Cone Slope

The Alpha C High Resolution model provides a ±1.7% cone slope range with finer 0.10% increments.

The smaller adjustment increments provide additional control for projects requiring more precise slope settings.

Precision Horizontal Leveling

In addition to specialized cone-slope applications, the Alpha C can function as a precise self-leveling laser level.

Horizontal accuracy is specified at ±10 arc seconds, equivalent to approximately ±1/16 in. per 100 ft or ±1.5 mm per 30 m.

2,000 ft Working Diameter

When used with the included R9 receiver, the Alpha C provides a working range of up to:

  • 2,000 ft diameter
  • 1,000 ft radius
  • 610 m diameter / 305 m radius

This makes the system suitable for large athletic fields, construction sites, and containment areas.

Servo Motor Self-Leveling

The Alpha C uses servo motor self-leveling technology with a leveling range of ±5°.

Automatic leveling helps establish a reliable reference while reducing manual setup requirements.

Single-Axis Slope Matching

The Alpha C provides a single-axis slope matching range of 8%, adding versatility for construction and grading applications beyond its specialized conical slope function.

Height Alert

The built-in Height Alert is normally active and warns operators when the laser's established reference may have changed.

The Height Alert function can also be disabled when required for the application.

500 RPM Rotation

The Alpha C provides full 360° rotation at 500 RPM, producing continuous laser coverage around the work area.

Machine Control Compatible

The Alpha C is compatible with machine-control applications, allowing it to serve as a laser reference for compatible machine-mounted receivers.

Visible 650 nm Laser Beam

The system uses a visible 650 nm laser beam for construction leveling and grade-control applications.

IP56 Environmental Protection

The Alpha C is sealed to IP56 international standards, providing protection against dust and water for professional outdoor use.

Wide Operating Temperature Range

The laser operates from -4°F to +140°F (-20°C to +60°C), supporting use across a broad range of field conditions.

Long Battery Life

The Alpha C operates on four C-cell batteries and provides up to 75 hours of operation with alkaline batteries.

An optional NiMH rechargeable battery kit provides up to 48 hours of operation.

8-Year Manufacturer Warranty

The Alpha C is backed by an 8-year manufacturer warranty.

R9 Laser Receiver Features

Dual-Sided Display

The included Pro Shot R9 Receiver provides information on both sides of the receiver for convenient viewing during grade work.

It features LED indicators on the rear and a 5-channel LCD height display on the front.

Three Accuracy Modes

The R9 provides three selectable accuracy levels:

  • Ultra-Fine: ±1.0 mm
  • Standard: ±1.6 mm
  • Coarse: ±3.2 mm

This allows operators to adjust receiver sensitivity based on the precision requirements of the job.

50 mm Reception Height

The receiver provides a 50 mm reception height and a 120° reception angle, helping operators efficiently capture the rotating laser beam.

Adjustable Audible Tone

The R9 receiver offers three audible settings:

  • High
  • Low
  • Off

Automatic Shut-Off

The receiver automatically shuts down after approximately 12 minutes without receiving a laser strike, helping conserve battery life.
